Snake plants are great. I had some cacti in my dorm room and I still have them 2 years later.

Succulents or a money tree if you want something a little bigger but still dorm sized, both are pretty easy to take care of

Only warning with these guys is that they need watering frequently and don’t take kindly to being underwatered in my experience (I took a one week vacation and forgot to tell my dad to water it and I came back to it shriveled and dead). They also grow VERY fast, but if OP can handle that, it’s a great choice, they’re easy to take care of if you remember to water
