it looks like a jade plant which is a succulent and doesn’t need that much water. i’ve just been watering when the soil is dry and i’ve never had problems with them

That’s a jade, don’t worry about her she’s perfectly fine rn. The stem gets brown in the same way bark does. My one suggestion is to turn it, because it seems like it’s growing towards the light so it’s lopsided.

Only water when the leaves look shriveled and are easily foldable

ok i was worried abt the stem being brown thx😭 the smaller section literally broke off when i touched it last week and now im anxious abt it bc it shriveled like tht

mine did the exact same thing (i've had her for five years now) and it freaked me out cuz i've never seen her do that before--but three months later i haven't done anything different and she's perfectly ok and growing a new beautiful bud. but also heavy on the turn!! they grow towards light so do a little rotate to even her out
