The subjects are underexposed. Adjusting your shutter speed a little or using photoshop can help bring more life to them.

This is awesome! Love how you followed the rule of thirds with the two people framing the sunset. It gives a nice balance to the photo. I also love the contrast between the colors, how vibrant they feel and the juxtapositions between both warm and cool as well as light and dark. This is textbook photography, and a great example for someone looking to improve their photography skills. Not to mention the storytelling and how immersive it feels, as if you were sitting there too. Very well done!
