HELLO CAT OWNERS, CALLING ALL CAT OWNERS!!! i’m “rescuing” a kitty from my boyfriend’s family’s farm soon, and i’m not sure where to start when it comes to preparing for her arrival. i’m not sure how old she is exactly, but she’s pretty tiny

if it's a kitten then it should be a lot easier to transition her to being an inside cat! but be prepared there maybe some tantrums thrown before she adjusts make sure you have plenty of scratching posts and cover any furniture you don't want to get scratched. cats are trainable!! so when you see her doing a behavior you don't want, redirect her to the correct thing (like with my cats we'd take their paws to demonstrate how to use the scratching post lol)

oh and if she's been living outside bring her to a vet asap if you haven't already! and while you're at the vet you can consult with them about the best diet for her (I'm not familiar with kittens but in my experience a mixture of wet and dry food is good so they get the extra moisture from wet food but dry food helps keep their teeth strong)

thank you so much!!! i’ll look into a good vet before buying any food, bc that was one of my main worries. i’m so excited to give her a bath/cleaning for the first time 😭 ik that sounds weird but she’s sooo dirty (partially from what i think is mucus getting stuck in her fur) so i’m already planning to hold off on a bath until after the vet, but i just want to clean her up 🥹 thank you so so so much for your advice!
