Has anyone experienced over grooming like this? We’re bringing him to the vet to make sure he’s medically fine. He shows no signs of stress or anything but idk he’s naked☹️

yesyes! my little man has done this exact thing it turned out to be his food giving him allergies and making him itchy so we switched him to a fancy prescription and his little toots is growing furs back!

Yeah that’s what we planned to rule out maybe with the vets help.

I mean it’s possible. He spends most his day with our other cat that’s 2 years older, so idk they usually just do their own thing. We started playing with him more actually whenever he starts grooming the areas we try and distract him which helps short term

Okay that is super interesting. That’s the first thing we tried was switching his food and there was improvement but only for a little under a week and it started happening again.

How is his food stored? What about his litter?

I mean storage wise we just keep it in the bags it comes in. But his litter box itself is in the open I guess and both him and our other cat eat a little at a time and throughout the day so the food is out as well in the bowl. Is that not good? He’s six and nothing has changed diet or environment wise, this is a very new behavior we’ve never had issues with him before.

None of that seems more. I just was wondering if the litter had changed cats cna be picky

Yeah my mom has had cats her whole life so we try our best to give them the best care possible. So yeah I don’t know literally nothing else is off his personality is the same, energy, eating behavior, bathroom wise. I’m just worried it’s an underlying medical issue so vet is next step fs
