standard poodle; they shed less than the other options but aren’t easy to groom. labs, goldens, and shepherds shed a lot- maintaining their coats will help a lot. my friend takes a lint roller to her golden. although it might better taking any of the options to a professional groomer. maintaining proper daily grooming & professional grooming care will determine if they are stinky I can’t say yes or no on if they get along with cats cause that highly depends on the temperament of the dog.
German shepherds shed A LOTTT!! (Unless you get a long haired one. Seems counter intuitive but my long haired ones never shed as bad as the short coat ones) and my GSD self promoted himself as a nanny dog to his kitty brothers! It takes a bit of work to get them okay as they are herding breeds but after 1-2 weeks he was perfectly fine with them!
I have a German Shepard mix. She does shed a lot but if you have a good brush it’s not that big of a deal. Shes not a big fan of cats, but she’s mostly okay around mine. She’s pretty smelly, but I’m sensitive to smells, would wash her more if I had the time, I’m sure if you had a regular washing schedule it wouldn’t be too bad.
