I took my mom's tortoiseshell cat to the vet for her first visit when she was itty bitty and the vet said "oh and a fleck of orange. Watch out, those orange cats are firecrackers"

the gene that causes red coloring (as opposed to black-based colors) is on the X chromosome; a calico cat has one red copy and so does an orange male cat on account of having only one X chromosome, so they are kind of Equally Orange. By this logic orange girl cats are the Most Orange
