I’m looking into adopting a cat, I live in an apartment. What are things you recommend buy, especially when it comes to dealing with a litter box to minimize smell?

So what we did is made a litter condo, cut a little entry way into a larger clear olasyic storage tote so it’s big enough and clear to not make her feel closed in. Than we have the litter box in the back corner and a litter catching mat before she can reach the exit. Just take the tote lid off to clean the box. Replace the actual litter pan every so often. Get in the habit of cleaning it every day.

Litter deodorizer (I use arm & hammer), a litter box with a top, a litter trashcan with a lid, and scooping daily

That’s actually really helpful thank you! Any specific litter brands you like. I’ve done some research but everything has mixed reviews.

We’ve always used fresh step scented, not sure the specific off the top of my head but? Yeah
