I mentally have to dissociate from my debt on a regular basis already to prevent me from being completely depressed and when you dissociate from it long enough whimsical purchases are a lot easier I’ve had to put caps on myself like no more than $20 on a silly purchase the entire month and whatnot but some people who are actively ignoring their debts may not be so self controlling

Seriously was reading a Reddit post of a woman who kept spending $700 a week on an online game, while she was out of work and her husband kept pulling from the 401k to pay the bills, and she was like “I think my husband, thinks I want a divorce” like no; he wants the divorce…

That’s fair, I would say you handle it well pretty well because at least you have a budget in mind. And yea thinking about debt a lot can easily bring down the mood fast. I know some people who just don’t care and put everything on their credit card without looking at the price.
