Don’t get a car loan if you already have a functional car

Buy it cash, preferably

Make sure you have an emergency fund set up first. Then, decide what you are willing to spend on a car and set a goal for a timeline. Divide the amount you’re willing to spend by X amount of months based on your timeline, and bam, that’s how much you need to save per month. But hard agree with #2, don’t get another car if your current one runs

I heavily recommend buying a used mustang (most S550s are reliable, and still significantly cheaper than any s650), and pay CASH if possible. Just keep in mind that these cars have high insurance premiums, so depending on how old you are, you have to factor that into the price.

And if you’ll need to get a loan, build your credit in the meantime. Make all payments on time and don’t do anything that will require a hard inquiry on your credit (so new cards, no other loans, etc)
