Save about 3× your monthly rent to cover deposits and move-in costs, and keep it in a separate savings account so you don’t spend it. Cut a few high-impact expenses, boost income if you can, and practice “paying rent” now by saving that amount each month. Set a move-out date and consider roommates to make the goal faster and cheaper.
