One of the saddest things I learned about the PJO community throughout the first season is that a lot of yall read PJO and still came out racist. It hasn’t been too bad this season, but I thought we were one of the better communities out there. :(

It’s unfortunate. And everyone saying “but it’s not book accurate!” Is trying to convince themselves they’re not racist. Everyone who was saying that Annabeth needed to be blonde because of the dumb blonde stereotype needs to know that that is out of date and black women face lots of prejudice in academic settings, more so than blonde women ever were This is the same for everyone hating on the Snape casting for the HBO Harry Potter show (which DO NOT WATCH, it only funds JKR…) (1)

I mean Leah has made annabeths character different, if you can’t see that you’re not looking. Any actor leaves their mark on a role. I do however thing that she has a done a phenomenal job, but to say it’s not different whether that’s race or script or her herself isn’t true

It’s not racist to want to a character to be the one you thought they. The biggest gripe I personally had was Percy Jackson. He’s white but was made ginger, not last straw, but Poseidon looking like that rubbed me horribly and I hated it. I’m white he’s white it’s not about race sometimes it’s just about it being different

…Who is funding anti-trans initiatives). The only bad thing about Snape being cast as black is how racist everyone else is going to be by assuming the teacher doing everything wrong with no credible proof is the black one. Especially in flashback scenes too when there is targeted bullying against Snape. It’s not going to look good. It does not matter what color his skin is no matter what the book says, the only problem is how it can come across as racism on screen

But seriously. It’s unfortunate so many people are being so disgustingly rude to A CHILD for playing a role. Annabeth’s race had nothing to do with her character and it only adds to it in the show. Leah is doing phenomenal
