i was on facetime with my niece and nephew today & said “aw yall are so cute!” thinking about how they were just babies sending voice notes etc. my niece looked at me weird. is it weird to call ur niece and nephew cute? their mom is my older sis

No. Maybe she just attributes you to being closer to her age (even if you’re not) so she thought it was weird lol

Depends on your gender. Unfortunately, I would more apprehensive if this came from a man rather than a woman (given that pedophilia is mainly a male dominated crime). BUT I don’t think it’s weird at all- it’s just that if it WAS I might pick up on it sooner if it was coming from a male.

yea that does make sense my mom says she sees me as like a sibling or a friend rather than like an aunt or authority figure
