The answer is Indiana! This is a picture of a meander of the Kankakee River. If the state never built a channel over the majority of it, it would look like this all the way to where it joins the Illinois River.

Yep! It’s a bend of the Kankakee a few hundred feet from the channel. What they did to the river is unforgivable.

We also got some really good lake effect snow! Nothing too crazy at 1 foot, but definitely a nice treat!
