You could see about asking for a refund for the contaminated fish if you have proof but I don’t think you’d have grounds to sue for any of it. Aren’t angel fish notoriously delicate/prone to dying?

Emotional damages in civil court if anything but youd need a grief counselor or therapist or something so you have verifiable evidence of distress

This is the reality of store bought fish, especially feeder fish. You shouldn’t be using feeder fish from petsmart, even moreso to feed a species which doesn’t need to eat other fish.

You could try. If you do small claims the only punishment you could ask for is money. If you sue in a civil court you’ll have to pay for a lawyer which would be ridiculous for a small fish. The judge probably won’t even look at the case

Store bought fish are expected to have parasites. That’s almost always the case. When introducing companion fish it’s your responsibility to properly quarantine, even moreso when you’re giving it a feeder.
