Y’all come on really. Plato made it up as an allegory. It was about hubris and he decided to make Athens sound better by having Atlantis lose a war to them. It may have vaguely been based on the Minoan Eruption on Santorini but that’s still a stretch.

I believe there was an ancient city called Atlantis but that it was just a regular city, nothing special about it
