
As a girl who recently started subbing, I would recommend 5th grade, as they have enough independence to not need constant hands on guidance like the kindergartners do. That does come with the trade off of wholesomeness, but there’s less exhaustion at the end of the day imo. Gym subbing is a gamble, it could be fun and stressful or chill and boring; you could have a lot of free periods or nothing but a lunch break. Most of the sub experience depends on the school ultimately, so trust your gut!
