Do you think that Trump providing McDonald instead of fine dining is symbolism for relatability, American, non-elitist.

Absolutely not, the president is just a cheap pos, do we not remember when he did this for that superbowl team his last presidency? There is no hidden meaning he just doesnt care

I think it’s because he’s a fat fuck and half of his diet is McDonald’s

It is pretty embarrassing that you give professional athletes micky ds when you have a premier kitchen and chefs in the White House (I assume).

It’s obviously a “hey I’m just like you guys” gesture. He’s just trying to appeal to his base. All for show

Disagree. But I do think McDonald’s is fire and I’d be happy with it (not a trump supporter btw)

Not a trump supporter but people who it call it “low class” are basically making fun of poor people.

Wrong, that food was paid for by taxpayer money, it’s not from trump’s own pocket

I never said it was his money I said he was cheap and didnt care. Doesnt need to be his money for him to be embarassingly frugal. If you host guests you accommodate them accordingly. Sure I think my taxes could go to better places but how embarassing is it that our presidents catering of choice for guests of any status is fast food?

I dont think they should have been invited at all but the presidents use of my tax dollars is a whole other convo. This q is about his intent with the decision.

Wait so fine dining would cost taxpayers more money not less

And it works. Most of the Trump base can’t afford to eat at 5 star restaurants and gourmet foods

Very good! As I said I dont think they should be hosted at all but if you choose to host people as the president you are representing the whole country as hosts. This q is not abt taxpayer money that is a whole other conversation, this q is about his intent and representation of himself and his office

He’s trying to represent himself as regular working class person by getting McDonald’s. I believe it is effective as most of Trump fan base are unable to afford gourmet meals

They were cut by DOGE in early 2025

I honestly was a fan of DOGE considering we were sending money to stupid ass places. But that seems like a pretty bad use of DOGE considering that we have political guests and athletes/celebrities there a lot.

Yeah thats why hes defacing the white house with a bunch of gold plated trash and a new ballroom, very average citizen remodeling choices, youre deluded if you think it was intentional

It’s not intentional, probably by accident. But the messaging does work

Getting fast food actually saves taxpayers money, it is cheaper

Yes it’s cheaper than going to the market and supporting farm and fresh businesses. Let’s give megacorps more money lol.

Doesn’t Trump get free McDonald’s for life though? That’s why he always takes people to McDonald’s and orders it.

No he literally gets free McDonald’s for life, he’s repeatedly getting it for other people and it’s because it’s cheap not because it’s a meaningful gesture. It’s also a dumb thing to get athletes who take their health seriously 😭💀 like it’s super processed and not healthy
