Wdym intentionally do that? It’s the normal distribution. A bell shaped curve is how averages work.

It’s not a normal distribution, the data is categorical, OP is stating that sometimes poll authors put what they know will be the most popular option in the middle so that it looks like a bell curve, the poll authors could just as easily place the options to create skew, but even then this is categorical data and there is no such thing as shape and spread of categorical data
