As someone who is an optimist & a very happy person, this survey has been enlightening. I didn’t like how there were so many negative people & comments on social media & I attributed it to trolls/bots, but according to this survey it’s just how the majority of yall are. ☹️ that’s so weird I can’t wrap my brain around it smh.
Yeah pretty much tbh. Even if something should be frustrating I have to try not to laugh at the absurdity of it. The only time I get sad is if I think of loved ones that have passed way & the things they’re missing out on, but then I reframe it as them being in heaven or worst case, resting eternally with no conciseness or pain. Which honestly still sounds pretty good so yeah lol.
I used to do a lot of mental training until it became instinct. So if I had a negative/anxious thought I would find the silver lining or think “but what if the best case scenario happens”? Ex. “Ugh it looks like it’s gonna rain before we go to the park!” ➡️ “well it was hot out so it’ll be cooler now + I can wear my new boots!” Or “canceling is ok cuz I love snuggling under the covers with a book & the sound of rain!” Eventually my brain started just skipping the negative stuff! Good luck!🤍
Lowkey it worked too well & now when things should be frustrating & I WANT to be frustrated I literally can’t be 😭. Or sometimes I wanna cry but I can’t cuz my brain starts thinking about the glass being half full and then I’m not sad enough. I have to watch puppy or soldiers being reunited with family videos to make myself cry lmao
