At the very least they should be taught what to do if you find one and what not to do.

I will say at my highschool, every first day of the new semester was dedicated to active shooter drills. Every class (block schedule) covered something different from how to pack bullet wounds, how to tie a tourniquet and mark the time it was applied on the ground in the victims blood for EMTs, and the other usual things like throw books at the shooter if you’re cornered. It was pretty stressful for everyone to do that twice a year

I understand we need to adapt to new norms, but at what point do we hold criminals more accountable so the rest of the population isn’t always having to accommodate?

They shouldnt HAVE to, but we live in the unfortunate reality that they probably should so they know what to do in the case it happens. HOWEVER we shouldn’t live in a society where they have to learn those things by necessity

The idea that we should be giving kids shooting lessons instead of implementing basic gun control so there’s fewer homes where kids have access to deadly weapons is so dystopian

Not really what I mean. More so, what happens if Billy’s grandpa forgets to store his revolver and Billy finds it?

Billy’s grandpa is responsible for his revolver, but Billy is also responsible for his own actions.

Yes… but shouldn’t Billy be educated on his decisions? (Ex. Don’t touch the gun).

Yes, that is what I’m talking about. Some people though just think Billy will be Billy and there is nothing they can do to change that.

Correct me if I’m wrong but no one here said shooting lessons. Who are you fighting?
