It’s actually a good thing that you can’t raise a family on a single income because it’s creates an incentive for both men and women to work and get educated.

I think that it’s a really BAD premise to set. Society relies on many of the various jobs “uneducated people” occupy. That’s your construction workers, farmers, cashiers, etc. without these ppl society doesn’t run! And I think it’s unfair that the regular, blue collar workers can’t afford to raise a family.

Bootstraps ass logic. What are divorced/single/widowed parents meant to do?? And where does your assumption that people DONT want to be employed and educated come from??

I think ideally you should be able to bare bones but not behind on rent or hungry be able to feed a family on a single income. but with an incentive to have two average incomes so you can actually go on vacation and have a house instead of a cheap condo or whatever idk

I hope both parents are held accountable for equal child care at that point.

And how do you expect people to have time or money to work and get educated if they cant afford rent or food for their children? This is classist af and the only thing it incentivizes is unhappy marriages/partnerships and kids with trauma bc of it, get a fucking grip

And that outside childcare is affordable, and transportation to and from school is taken care of, and after school care is provided

Most first gen immigrants also are a large part of the population that do not have college degrees

Also just FYI, there’s MORE native born American farmers than immigrants

So it’s cool if immigrants can’t support themselves?

They can support themselves! They choose to work for less tho which is why companies like hiring them

They don’t “choose” to work for less. They’re just willing to do it to survive. That doesn’t make it right that corporations take advantage of their neediness to pay them less
