Minecraft isn't owned by notch anymore, it's own by Microsoft. Notch has no input in the games decisions

Notch no longer profits from Minecraft while Jk Rowling actively makes more money from Harry Potter to this day and uses that money to fund her campaign against the transgender community and actively talks about viewing your support for her franchise as support for her political views

Because i dont want to openly financially support and invest in an author who has openly advertised she aims to use profit to make a org to work against trans people and youth 🤨 i can consume the media sure but im not going to stream anything new or buy anything direct

it’s partially about input, partially about money. Rowling still makes her percentage every time you buy anything potter related, notch does not. Not that Microsoft is a particularly amazing place for money to go either, but personally I bought minecraft probably 10 years ago and haven’t spent a dime on it since anyway.
