As long as you’re respectful and time it appropriately it’s acceptable

Depends on a lot tbh is she by herself? With one person? A big group? Is this 7 am and she's in pajamas or is it afternoon? Does she look sad? Are you actively disrupting anything by saying hi?

Def acceptable. But you gotta see how much food is on her plate. Got approached in the dining hall once with my plate fully covered and I felt like such a big back and he had like barely one thing and I felt so insecure after

yeah just keep in mind all other social dynamics apply. if she has headphones on, probably not the move. one time i was eating alone and there were a couple of guys who sat at my table, and we acknowledged each other but not much more than that, until i took out my headphones as i was wrapping up and one of them struck up a conversation. i didn’t realize until after i left, but it made me feel really respected.

Im usually not bothered by someone coming up to me as long as theyre respectful regardless but I know those are things that my friends would worry abt with someome coming up to them
