As a 22 year old woman working at a gym, I get literally filmed at work by one guy (new job in the process to escape this), but also multiple grown men act weird to me, some come to the gym for only like 10-15 mins when I’m working, I’ve been asked if one could buy me lipstick, etc. it’s nonstop. Yes. I’ve been fearful of getting stalked by relentless guys from dating apps or people I’ve cut off. Yes lmfao. It’s scary

im ngl if i was a pretty girl i would worry about that but as an ugly girl ive kind of fetishized being stalked. if it was an actual thing i was at risk of, i would take it more seriously

As a woman I’m very suprised how many women feel this way! I suppose maybe it’s some insecurity in myself.

I worry more that ppl think I’m stalking them lol. I feel kinda weird when I happen to be walking the same way behind a girl, like I’m freaking them out or something. I certainly hope I don’t give off that stalker vibe.

I’ve been stalked, SA’d, and almost abducted. I never move without my stungun and have emergency calls set up to happen in just three button presses. And I’m 6’2” and fat. 🫠

I fear being stalked because I am. Flock Safety ALPRs track my every move when I drive on the roads.

I’ll offer my two cents as to why I myself feel this way: I feel that for the most of the time stalking (especially for women) has to do with infatuation with the person being stalked. And that it is very easy for woman ti end up being stalked. The police usually won’t do anything if you’re being stalked unless the stalker does something to you. Along with that I also fear the stalker acting on that creepy infatuation.

And women who aren’t even socially speaking really pretty can be stalked which scares me even more.

It’s good to be aware of this! Usually intent can be felt, but not walking closely or on the same side can help alleviate that if it’s late and you’re in a quieter area. Or if you’re at a very different pace.

Yea, I usually walk faster than average so I try to either get around on the other side or take a different route. If intent can be felt then I’m sure I have nothing to worry about, I’m either omw back to my apartment with food and a YouTube video prepped or I’m on my way to class and taking pictures of pretty clouds on the way (or trying to find a crunchy leaf to sort on)

Yes! I love finding the biggest and crunchiest leaf and always go out of my way to step on them! It probably makes me look stupid hopping around trying to crush leaves but idc its took much fun

I don’t jump into big piles I know haven’t been disturbed because those are often shelters for little critters but I looooove when a big leaf is intact and blows my way because then it’s just… so crunchable…

lol ok so back to trying not to look like a stalker. Is it better to be just like normal and looking around or be looking down at my phone? Which do you think would put a girl at ease? The last thing I want is to be making ppl uncomfortable if I happen to be walking behind them

Generally just doing your own thing does the best. I find myself very apprehensive when someone looks at me a bunch or crosses a street *toward* me rather than by me, or keeps in line with my pace if I change it.

Ok, thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. Usually I just go on my phone or end up taking pictures of something like a pretty sky or a cool bug or something (I like photography), so hopefully I come across as harmless as I am.
