Why?? Why are we even doing this? We have fought entire wars against countries that aggressed against their neighbors. This is some rogue state war criminal shit. The rest of the world should have tried to stop this and should condemn it.

The Venezuelan economy is incredibly corrupt and full of inflation. The fact people were making more money gold farming on MMOs than their own jobs there is telling. Was the US justified doing this shit? Hell no. Will Venezuela be a better place because of it? Unironically yes assuming someone who isn’t as corrupt as he was fills in the role.

i don’t disagree with the idea of it (as in maduro = bad, democracy = good) - but US intervention in latam RARELYYY goes well. Even this, what could be a cut and dry “good move” on the US will likely just make things worse for Venezuelan government. Also, it’s for oil. So that corrupts and moral compass
