There were pretty major funding issues and cuts across the whole district but the actual school building was completely remodeled less than a decade before I attended so the school itself was very nice and had a lot of non standard or 'lavish' inclusions that ended up used for alternative credit fulfillment classes
Also to be frank I dont think as a student you'd actually know abt major funding issues unless you followed your local government as a kid/teen, entering the school industry myself is what even made me aware of it, I always thought my district was pretty well off but those budget problems are not new
Yeah mine doesn’t end there 😭 The principal said no to the football field initially AND walked in on the AD having sex with a Vice Principal so he filed a restraining order for harassment, got her fired (bc she literally COULDNT go to work), and got the field approved by the Board of Ed in my county. We have a brand new football field and a declining school/attendance :D
