I like the idea of a PhD but i think I’d hate it. I crave structure, and i think the open endedness of a PhD would overwhelm me. No set timeline, no set classes (apart from first yr or two), it’s up to me to drive the scope of the research. And no guarantee the thesis will pass. Unlike bachelors where there’s clear exit criteria, and most jobs where the role responsibilities & promotion criteria are clear.
