I don't think unhoused is any less dehumanizing than homeless given how homeless people are treated and talked about tbh. it's performative and it would be better to actually start w helping homeless people

I use homeless because i think it has more emotional impact - people need A HOME and yes that does mean permanent shelter and safety. “Unhoused” might sound more neutral or professional or something but I think that it diminishes the experience of actually being homeless- you’re not just without housing, you’re without all of the emotional things that come with having a real home

Hi I was homeless. My problem wasn’t I didn’t have a house my problem was the system failed me and people tried to say “unhoused” like it was any less dehumanizing than saying I was homeless and being denied care.
