With all of the immigration raids and immigration prison and detention, do you think that it is still impressive that immigrants are still choosing the U.S. over other countries?

Bad comparison, even with ice and bad treatment, it is still better than the country they are fleeing. It’s hard for to us to see because of propaganda

While I think ICE sucks, I think a lot of people aren’t willing to admit that our immigration system, while f*cked, is still a lot easier than many other countries.

The immigration stuff is only really a problem if you are here illegally (unless you are just being harassed by ICE). If you’re legal it’s a great place to live comparatively.

i grew up with a lot of immigrant friends and their families took care of me when i was homeless. i learned that the main reason they chose to come to the us is because close proximity and their families. some people have family in the us that they want to be closer to. the us is a melting pot and there are so many immigrants here from all over, some people just want to be closer to their families.

no. there are other countries with their citizens living in actual communist, socialist, dictatorship countries, where people are not afforded the freedoms we are. peoples are slaughtered in other countries for their beliefs or starve from hunger because their government can't feed them, so no, i'm not impressed or surprised. if you think our country is that horrible, you're delusional.

Are we talking about legal or illegal immigrants choosing America?

No. It takes a while for global culture to catch up to what’s happening in America. Our perception, at least in impoverished places, is still that we’re the land of opportunity.
