One note here, employee bonii (assuming you mean bonuses/benefits) would fall under reinvesting in the company since employees are technically assets

i don’t want to be one of those “always put the shareholders first” kind of people, but people buy certain stocks for the dividends so it would make sense for the shareholders. i think if the shareholders already have got their dividends then it should be employee bonuses assuming it was a good year due to excess profits

This is 100% true, aside from when the shareholders vote to use the profits in other means presented by the board.
