Who cares you can’t control anyone except yourself, at the end of the day everyone makes their own choices regardless of what people tell them

I understand why AI is bad but I can’t lie I used it when I was going through a very depressing time and had nobody to reach out to. I used it for therapy when I couldn’t afford actual therapy and I haven’t touched it since. I advise people not to use AI, but sometimes it saves people. At the end of the day, I don’t control anyone

What’s actually so bad about a word complier?

The problem arises when you use said word compiler to replace your cognitive functions and to provide medical services to you. Bear in mind that ChatGPT has amplified peoples’ psychotic delusions and lead them to commit murder or suicide.

Don’t u think the problem is that people are loosing their cognitive functions regardless of new technology? What about all the good and helpfulness ai provides to normal (not at risk individuals)? Or what about the fact that ai is the only real equitable global device that can minimize the gaps between the social hierarchy everyone seems to complain about? Also isn’t the person using it wrong the core issue not the device?

that would be why they said person in the question, yes. However I wholeheartedly disagree that ai is equitable or minimizes social hierarchy in any way whatsoever. AI specifically in the form of social media algorithms is extremely inequitable and increases the amount of influence that a tiny group of people have over the opinions of millions. It empowers the social hierarchy by allowing people to create things that empower it, and I don’t see it the opposite often at all, much less more.

I don’t think that people are losing their cognitive abilities regardless of new technology. New technology like the internet has just been giving people a platform to exploit human psychology to take advantage of others. AI use, on the other hand, has been shown to decrease brain engagement and potentially reduce critical thinking according to an MIT study.

And explain what good AI provides to the average person. Also explain what you mean by “only real equitable global device that can minimize the gaps between the social hierarchy”. Lastly, dangerous technologies and devices are regulated for public safety all the time, AI is no different.

AI companies are actively pushing governments to guard them against regulation, safety measures, and liability for their own gain. This is because they KNOW that AI is dangerous for at-risk individuals and they do not care enough to make it safer. Additionally, AI is free now, but OpenAI is already introducing ads into it. It’s only a matter of time until all pretenses of AI being unbiased (it isn’t) are dropped and it’s turned into a product shill like we all knew it would be.

AI will not transform the social hierarchy, it will be used to reinforce it. Even if it did improve our abilities, priority access would be given to the upper class. Proletariat like you and I who have been duped into relying on AI will be rugpulled once the paywalls go up.

Using AI in moderation as a sounding board to cut through cognitive distortions and work through ERP in the moment has helped for me, ofc in combination with therapy
