I’m not because if it comes to that, my power of attorney (whoever it may be, assuming they’re around if this ever happened to me) can make that decision for me. If I am legally brain dead but have viable organs, I don’t want medical personnel to whisk me away without gaining further consent from my loved ones which is exactly what happens

I was for a while but after I donated my third kidney they started crashing out, so I figured I'd hang onto the rest until they calm down.

I used to be but changed it when I got a motorcycle because if I ever got in a horrible crash I don't want them to give up and just take my organs (that's simplified but shockingly things like that can happen)

I’m scared of them being harvested while still alive, so nah.

Well seeing as I haven’t died in an accident yet…

I’m in nursing school, have two nurse practitioners and a nurse in my family who’ve collectively worked in healthcare well over 50 years & they’ve seen too much shit. If you have loved ones you trust to make this decision for you if the situation ever came up, I highly recommend not being an organ donor and having a designated power of attorney
