stealing someone’s food is basically russian roulette. and ofc rude and disrespectful as fuck, any revenge taken against the thief that isn’t actually going to seriously harm the average person is fair game imo

Criminal Justice Major here. Knowingly tampering with food, even your own food in this circumstance to engineer an adverse reaction from a predictable pattern of theft, and inflicting suffering or a medical reaction on your target could be looked at by a court as premeditated tampering of food. Food had ghost pepper in it, and in the facts of the case, that you could reliably predict that someone was gonna steal your meal, would make you appear as if you were trying to inflict a deliberate adverse reaction on a potential thief. Shit would be very hard to defend if someone took u to court for it.
