Unemployment is only one factor. It’s not easy when gas and food prices skyrocketed.

Liar. Per the usual, he is incorrect. It was 0.8% in Oct. 1944 (which was unsustainable and why women entered the workforce). In modern times, it was 3.4% Jan.-Apr. 2023 under none other than Joe Biden. 😂

You do realize there was a big hiring spree once things started to reopen, right? You can literally chalk that one up to being the right person at the right time Trump’s an idiot but they’re all idiots. The unemployment rate is never as reported and fails to take into account those who don’t report being unemployed

Please don’t. I have a degree in economics. Jan 2023 was not post covid hiring. It can mainly be attributed to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The Biden administration actually CREATED new jobs.

Do you see a large number of young people without any jobs at all living with their parents? Do you think many people haven’t applied themselves at all and supposedly one day businesses need to close because nobody is willing to work? Also the minimum wage in some states is $8 which isn’t worth getting into.

Have you? What you inferring is anecdotal and not a reflection of the total job market. The unemployment rate is flawed, but it’s consistent. What is measured today is the same that was measured in the past and is primarily good for comparative analyses. The idea that people don’t want to work is nonsense. Market wages are higher than the minimum wage in most regions. Businesses not willing to pay more will not be able to hire then cry people don’t want to work.

$7.45 in some, and even though I think minimum wage shouldn’t generally be high, that’s way too low

Tbh it might take a recession and higher unemployment to get us out of this insane inflationary gap. Higher interest rates, unemployment, higher taxes will drive down inflation. Unfortunately, we have a complete imbecile in the WH who doesn’t care about the economy as long as his personal market transactions are lucrative.

It makes me so sad and furious that he took an oath to help the country and only helps himself and a few billionaires.
