He’s saying it’s not normal that we are living in a country where basic necessities are taking up 90% of a paycheck leaving almost no savings for fun, and usually most savings will go towards emergency funds for healthcare, car repairs and upkeep, and such things.

I would think that as well if they didn’t specify dislike specifically for the word “adulting” and use the r word. There’s a chance they still mean this, but there’s also a chance they’re just an asshole and mean the exact opposite, that struggling isn’t normal
