I don’t mind groups of friends being loud in public unless it’s in an environment that’s overtly supposed to be quiet, like a theater or something

Environment-dependent for me. A is more annoying in a semi-quiet confined space, but whatever on a public street/outdoors. Oh the other hand B could be more disruptive since the sound may carry more and it’s more voices than in A
