Not every republican is maga, every maga is republican. Squares and rectangles

Honestly I get the sense that republican politicians don’t take trump seriously at all (even his current administration, you can find interviews of them expressing disapproval from before 2016) and MAGA is generally a lot more aggressively right wing than republicans were a few decades ago - Trump’s administration makes Bush look like a moderate

It’s a good question. Im a moderate republican, but i lean a little more centrist. (It’s harder to get behind what Mr. Trump has been doing as of late with foreign involvements and the Epstein files.) but the core tenets for me are still there. I believe in the strength of the nuclear family, the obligation that our nation (should) have to serve its people, Americans first, and the strict stance we need to adopt on immigration, as it shouldn’t be a burden, otherwise dont do it.

My parents were undocumented. In 1986, Ronald Reagan did immigration reform, they immediately became republicans. They still believe everything Reagan did, but no longer identify with the Republican Party since Trump.
