I say ‘oh you were telling me about that!’ but like encouragingly and interested in hearing it again, also it’s ambiguous if I meant they finished telling me before, so they can choose to keep going or be like oh yeah never mind

I always tell them but that never stops them from retelling it even if I’m clearly uninterested in hearing it

I’m late af to this but I used to work at a senior living facility. The most polite thing you can do is let them repeat. I also may have undiagnosed adhd because I tend to repeat shit at 20 years old
