If you know that it usually costs $20 for a TNC ride from the airport to your home, but surge-pricing is doubling that, how do you handle tipping your über/lyft/etc driver?
#poll
Tip % on $20 regular fare
Tip % on $40 surge fare
Wait out the surge at airport resta
Take a taxicab
I never tip anyway

Or remember that they are doing this for their job and tip them regardless, even if it’s not much, because you’re a decent human being. My mom has to live off tips so I know how important tipping is.

I only tip ubers/lyfts/taxis/etc if i inconvenience them in some way or something goes wrong, near accidents, got sick one time, make them wait for me, etc. I would regularly if i had the money but ride costs are too unpredictable to budget the extra $3-5 even if im going to the same places.

I love this mindset and I wish this was how it was but around the holidays is when tipped workers usually recieve the worst tips. I’m a server and bro November-February is the worst time to work (but, ofc, its the time you NEED to work the most) because people usually do their holiday shopping and go out to eat and decide to tip less because they already spent so much money and the tip is optional.

Yeah I used to be a server who would work holidays like even Christmas Eve and Valentine’s Day and stuff, why are you tipping 5%… like believe me I’m broke rn but I’ll make it work while also being a nice person to other people who are clearly not rich and working the holidays
