I can be cordial and polite without enabling them, siding with them, or dismissing my friend so yes I will be friendly no I will not be friends

depends on what the situation was. people can sometimes be rude unintentionally or when they’re under a lot of stress so i might not necessarily hold it against them if it was a relatively minor, one-time thing, but if it was something bigger that might change things

I try to stay friendly to everyone regardless but sometimes I can’t help feeling a little dislike towards them

I’ve been in this exact position and I continued to be friendly towards the alleged rude person. I regret this, since it was (in my specific case), both dismissive of my friend’s experience and delayed the inevitable of this person being rude to me.

I can’t help if my first impression on them is bad

If they can explain themselves and make amends, I won’t hold a grudge, but to act morally superior after hurting someone else and thinking that your actions are ok—no. I try to be the levelheaded one of my friend groups, but some people are just plain narcissistic
