Are you in the alterhuman yikyak by the way? (It’s a small community, and not a lot of us post much, but it does exist)

a therian is someone who non-physically identifies as an animal because of animalistic behaviors/mentalities they experience!

How do you experience animal mentality? Like what are those?

like having the instincts or behaviors of your theriotype. ex: a wolf therian experiencing protective instincts towards their closest friends, or a cat therian wanting to hunt fish or birds. stuff along those lines. these experiences are significant enough that they feel separate from the human experience

I really hope I don’t sound rude, but why would any of those things be separate from the human experience? Humans have hunted and fished, lived nomadically, protected each other, lived in groups, etc. since the literal beginnings of our species existing on earth. Humans have instincts just like any other animal, but unlike most animals, we’re capable of acting according to more than just instinct

they’re different because they FEEL animalistic. they feel predatory in a way that humans are not. they feel separate from the civilization that humans have built off of. i feel like a feline spirit in a human body.

How can you know what those things feel like?

because they are significant mental shifts
