is asking your friends to spend $2000 each to go traveling with you internationally for five days for your birthday too much of an ask?

It's not too much to invite them but it is Definitely too much to expect

This is actually screaming “extreme entitlement” 😬 but like someone said above, it’s nice to invite them if they’re willing to spend 2k, but not to ASK them to spend 2k

It’s one thing if you bring up the idea with plenty of time to consider. I went once with a group and we figured out the costs and set saving goals. Another time, a wealthier friend said he could cover the hotels, if we found a way to get there and took spending money.

Also, for your birthday is odd why can’t this just be a trip you all agree on and enjoy together and do something smaller for your birthday. This feel like expecting five days and thousands of dollars spent on you

If you know your friends can/are the type to want to do something like that for that cost then go for it I guess I just personally cant say I know anyone who has even half of that to drop on a whim for a special occasion or not
