surprised to see how close fame is a gun is to boy is s gun. yes it’s catchy, but boy is a gun and the honesty the entire igor album is imo some of the greatest musical production of the 21st century.

Id like fame is a gun a lot more if it wasnt 90% tech, shes awful live and I hate people who act like that isnt an important thing to consider, that song would do much better with an artist that can actually perform it

True. She’s not any more talented then anyone who can sing a single note. She’s just got clout. But the production on the song is great. The beat is hella catchy.

True. And the message of the song is “I’m addicted to fame, I need attention” and giving her that attention despite not writing or producing the song feels icky

Precisely this 😭 she is no more an artist than I am an athlete, just because I can throw a ball or skate does not mean Im qualified or even capable of producing results, she'd be nothing without the people that help make her stuff and even then as a person she has an EXTREMELY rocky history of beliefs

Not sure i completely agree. Many popular artists are just not performers but that doesnt make the music bad. Also critiquing her music for being too techy is kind of reductive. Yes it's harder to translate into live music, but "music needing to be good live" is completely independent from the quality of the music.

Its not "too techy", by 90% tech I mean its literally not her voice. She cannot sing anywhere near the ability that her tracks are edited to portray. The lyrics she writes herself are mediocre at best and theyre few and far between. She is not only a horrible performer but shes also just not good at it and is an objectively bad person outside of it. The quality of her producers and writers is stellar, the quality of her? Yeah Im all set

I'm more speaking about the quality of Fame is a Gun, in a "separating art from the artist" kind of way. It's a good song.

Its a fine song, the production is stellar, the writing is mid tier but catchy, and the performer matches level of an elementary schooler. Separating the art from the 'artist' doesn't change any of that. I could rib into the lyrics all day if you dont wanna talk about addison but it wont change that I dont like the song that much 💀

Actually even not separating the art/artist, the lyrics are pretty fitting to her situation. It's honestly self aware of her career and her "i was born to be famous and whatever i do you bitches will eat it up anyways" schtick.
