The poll wasn’t even separated by gender. 💀

read the comments. op said they should’ve said “anyone” instead of “men”

It was definitely a freudian slip but yeah, I saw that comment too. 😂

i meannnnn op is probably a girl so she was just basing it off on her own experiences 🤷‍♀️ i don’t agree with her, but i don’t get how that’s a freudian slip

It stems from a general dislike of the male sex and belief that they are against anything “progressive”. Once she saw people disagreed she tried to backtrack, but her initial statement is what she really thinks. Or thought.

…..that’s a reach. she’s probably just heard a lot of comments about septum piercings from men specifically and assumed it was that again. i have personally never heard a non-male comment on how attractive a piercing on someone is irl, but that’s just me

it’s prob not about being “anti-men” she was probably just projecting her own experiences onto the post when it’s not always about gender

i’ve also seen more girls with septum piercings than men so it’s easy to assume

I assure you it’s not a reach, I’m basing my conclusions off of her tonality and pattern recognition. You’re welcome to stand by your own assumptions, and there always a chance you’re right, neither of us know the person after all, but the likelihood of that being the case is about 10% or less.

fair enough. i just disagree because as a woman myself, the patriarchy is set up where people automatically assume we wear things to attract the opposite gender (this applies to men too, i’m just speaking on my experience) so that’s likely where the assumption came from. i could be wrong though! it’s just a piercing after all, one’s opinion on it doesn’t reflect how progressive someone is

but yes, there’s a good chance her opinion also stemmed from biases that should be reflected on too. after all, her internal thoughts don’t have to be “men suck and are incapable of being progressive” in order for it to be a concern
