I literally dont understand this. The 'fat' people in my life are the healthiest I know. They lift more weight just in day to day life, their joints are stronger. My biggest friend outpaces me when we go to the gym together and its so frustrating to see such lovely people sidelined bc they get labelled as not taking care of themselves when half the time that isnt even true :// so many incredibly cruel and shallow people in the world
I agree with #1 but also I think it’s ridiculous to frame this about health when it would make you sound like a dick in any other context imo. Ofc there’s nuance everywhere but like, you wouldn’t say the same things about someone with asthma, or like, idk any other issue being unhealthy and therefore not up to dating standards.
Maybe a little tubby and they’re healthier than someone rail thin but being morbidly obese shouldn’t be normalized. It’s true that a lot of the time it’s not their fault but it still is terrible for them and anyone that I care about I prefer to live longer and healthier. Being obese isn’t a reason to hate or discriminate against someone ofc but that doesn’t mean it should be sold as “ok” to be in an unhealthy state.
Big doesnt equal unhealthy and skinny doesnt equal healthy 💀💀 not all fat people are morbidly obese or even above a healthy weight and the societal perspective of what a healthy weight range is, is dramatically low. No one is promoting being unhealthy and you responding to me to say that proves my point! You people cant conceptualize someone bigger than you being healthy and its weird!!
If you knew the subject youre discussing youd know that doctors/scientists have been saying the bmi scale is not an accurate index of health and encouraging for its abandonment for over a decade. You couldve easily made your own comment with your opinion but you chose to claim that bigger bodies shouldnt be normalized, and generalized bigger people as morbidly obese for the sake of your point and to negate mine that big people CAN be healthy, thats not agreeing with me and its hateful ✌️god bless
I challenge you to find where I generalized bigger people as morbidly obese. I LITERALLY agreed that bigger people can be healthy. And you’ll also notice I didn’t say anything about the veracity of the BMI scale just used it to point out (AGREEING with you) that you can be what society deems fat and still be healthy. My point was that BEING MORBIDLY OBESE IS BAD FOR YOU. Ima cease engaging with you now since I think I’ve made myself clear
well, let’s stop acting like fat means a bit of pudge and muscle… that’s often not what it means, and their joints aren’t necessarily stronger for having to accomodate unhealthy weight… 😭 like let’s be frl, they likely aren’t the healthiest in your life, you must just feel bad for the way society treatst them. (not saying skinny is the standard either, i think fit & healthy should be , however you cant b fat and fit simultaneously scientifically speaking)
well asthma or an affliction one didn’t choose for themselves is wayy different than being fat. fat is a choice, and people often don’t prefer it because it shows a lack of discipline, inability to care for yourself, and leads to extreme health issues down the line. yes there are RARE conditions causing weight gain, but not enough to become as big as a lot of ppl nowadays. it’s the usa and our shitty food, shitty options, and shitty pricing.
