No it’s not, you can’t group south asians, east asians, etc all as the same race just because they’re part of the same continent.

Well...you CAN. Race is socially constructed and an arbitrary way to classify people (In the US this was used to classify who gets which legal rights). I suggest reading up on Asian-American history and civil rights. Asians are lumped together strictly for political reasons and do not follow the older Western skin-color-based framework.

I am Asian American and know Asian American history. I understand the shared history between south Asians and east Asians in America, but ultimately they are treated much differently based on the way they look.

Different races have different genetic make up. #2 is right Asia is so vast that you can’t just group all Asians into one race because people inherit different genes based on where they’re from even inside a continent

Yes, but people are treated similarly based on similarities in their genetic/biological makeup which what defines a race. This is also why it changes based on where you are in the world since it is based on perspective.

That's not what defines race. Race is not solely defined by skin color. It's political and historical. Thats why it changes across cultures.
