idk where you went to drivers ed, but they told us to maintain a constant speed so merging drivers can more easily tell where they can fit, assuming you can’t move over, and speeding up is preferable to slowing down if it helps make space. It’s the merging drivers job to merge.

There aren’t any yield ramps in your area lamo, and if there’s a space for merging drivers then maintaining speed is fine. But if there isn’t a space, you need to move because there’s nothing the merging drivers can do. You need to be going at least 55 in order to merge

You are not obligated to change your speed or yield. The on-ramp to the highway (or any road for that matter) is responsible for safely merging. You created a poll with two incorrect answers.

I think it's the right thing to get out of the way if you can but the responsibility ultimately falls on the person merging. It's one of those things where you can't fully count on other drivers being nice.

I agree. When I can, I always move over a lane. But OP is very stuck in the mud about the merging car having the right-of-way when that’s just not true.
