Notice that though you said they’re so “hateful”, they still offered you a hug… They don’t hate you, they only disapprove of your lifestyle. You’d do well to return that love. 👍

That's a fucked up thing to try to gaslight OP like that. A superficial hug is not enough to fulfill the need of Love and Belonging. Physical comfort and emotional rejection dont just cancel each other out. There's a big difference between "I'm a loving parent because I hug you" and "I'm a loving parent because I accept you."
