Lots of people are saying “legal status” but that just kicks the can down the road. Who should get legal status?

Nobody should get amnesty. The US is a sovereign state and not everyone who wants to come to this country should be allowed to enter or stay. Enforcement of immigration law is morally legitimate and some cultures and individuals are better at becoming Americans than others. That is reason enough to be selective with immigration.

Nations are, first and foremost, for the benefit of the people already there legally, and for their children. Every nation. Ergo who should get legal status? The people who are there legally, and their children. Anyone who is naturalized, and their children, also deserve legal status as citizens. Green card holders and their children are green card holders—not citizens, not voters, but legal. Upon naturalization, their minor children should be automatically naturalized.

People who go through the legal process of citizenship should be granted legal status. It’s pretty simple.

Borders are already a constructed means to exact sociopolitical privilege and oppression, amnesty for all

It's so annoying when people act like being born or living within artificially created borders somehow makes you different from someone born within another set of artificially created borders

Literally anyone who lives inside the borders of the United States for a sufficient amount of time? How long? Are there any disqualifying factors?

Not in a welfare country. Without welfare we’d only have capable and productive people coming here. I refuse to pay for everyone in this country and especially the world

Most of your taxes are going to the military, not welfare. Go bitch about that, poor people aren’t your enemy, especially not poor people arbitrarily born in another country

if we let everything my taxes get spent on slide, we end up in a worse position than we already are. I don’t want my taxes going to illegals, israel, foreign wars, or free housing for everyone but me. If you want to pay for them go donate
